Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community shared sympathy for the star in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
