Barça Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized an open training session inside the stadium on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
