'Enduring a Horrific Ordeal': Families of Unaccounted For Teens Await Answers After Alpine Fire
The relatives of teenagers unaccounted for after a tragic inferno at a venue in a Switzerland's alpine town are enduring an excruciating period of uncertainty for official news and pleading for any details about their loved ones online.
The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the small hours of January 1st. Confirmed images depict the roof structure igniting as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.
Officials have indicated that it could take considerable time to identify the victims of the tragedy, which killed four dozen individuals and hurt another scores more. A spokesperson said on Friday that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work ongoing to name the other six.
In the waiting period, relatives have been taking to social media to appeal for clues about their friends who were in attendance that evening.
Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For
The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are currently unknown, according to an appeal from his mother.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old promising athlete, originally from Genoa but now residing in the UAE.
The national sporting body has stated that he is no longer with us, without directly referencing the tragedy, honoring a "talented young man who represented passion and true sportsmanship."
His father, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around midnight. An representative has clarified that a official announcement of his death is still pending.
Other Cases
Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also among the missing. His mother told reporters that he had been on holiday but had gone out with friends and ended up at the venue.
"A close friend informed me they escaped after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he lost sight of him," she said, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.
One of his teachers commented, "I've always been struck by his good nature and smile, combined with great maturity. He would frequently offer to help out."
