Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025 Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the top winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Top Game award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's achievements, the skilled actors also received individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected seven awards throughout the ceremony.
Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. It is important to note, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only 4 special—Critics Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by experts.
