Trump's Family Member Seeks Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Prior to LPGA Debut
The rising star maintains impressive social media following
Kai Trump will have numerous prominent cheerleaders as she starts her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns several courses worldwide and often competes against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.
Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa essentially told me to play and have fun," she added.
"From my perspective, he's simply an ordinary family member. He can't make it for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has played in only three events this year and maintains position 461 in AJGA standings.
However she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He stands as the greatest golfer in the world," Kai stated.
"Additionally, he's an even better individual. He told me to compete, relax, following whatever happens."
Kai will face several top competitors in professional golf at the Annika, including second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that involving Kai helps introduce golf to different demographics, especially among younger fans.
The social media influencer has millions of followers and has started an exclusive clothing and lifestyle brand.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
